A Beginner's Guide to.....

Establishing Meaningful Relationships with Families

The free document ‘A Beginner’s Guide to Establishing Meaningful Relationships with Families’ has been written by Jaziea Farag to help childminders, nurseries and schools engage in important conversations about meaningful relationships with families.

Jaziea Farag is a dedicated children’s author, Early Years and Racial Trauma Educational Consultant, and Speech and Language Specialist Teacher committed to fostering a sense of belonging for all. Currently pursuing her EdD, she focuses her research on navigating inclusion for Global Majority families with children identified as having additional learning needs.  Driven by her experiences teaching and participating in Early Years settings in Wales, Jaziea founded Courage to Climb, a company aimed at providing essential training and support for educators.  Recognising the need for fostering healthy, self-confident young individuals, her company empowers practitioners to understand diverse ways of creating a sense of belonging for Global Majority children and families.  Moreover, Courage to Climb supports settings in embarking on their own anti-racist journey.

Jaziea’s passion extends to literature, where she advocates for the representation of positive Black protagonists. Her upcoming book, ‘My Birthmark and Me!’, delves into a narrative where a young girl utilises her imagination to embrace her birthmark. Through her multifaceted roles, Jaziea Farag remains a trailblazer, contributing to the enrichment of education and promoting inclusivity in both literature and learning environments.
